Panel not showing?
If you installed a plugin in Filmit Studio but cannot find its panel in After Effects or Premiere Pro, work through these steps. They fix the large majority of cases.
1. Check the Window menu
In your editing app, go to Window > Extensions and look for the tool by name. Panels open from here, not from the Effects or Effects Controls panels.
2. Restart the app
If the editing app was open while you installed or updated the plugin, fully quit and reopen it. The extensions list is read at startup.
3. Confirm you installed it for the right app
Some tools are After Effects only, some are Premiere only, and some run in both. Open the tool in Filmit Studio and check which app it supports, then look in that app.
4. Reinstall from Studio
Open Filmit Studio, uninstall the tool, then install it again. This re-writes the panel files cleanly.
5. Confirm Studio is signed in
A locked panel is different from a missing one. If the panel opens but shows a locked screen, see License and activation.
Where panels are installed
For reference, Studio installs panels into Adobe’s standard extensions folder:
- Windows:
%APPDATA%\Adobe\CEP\extensions\ - macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions/
You should not need to open these folders. If a panel is present here but still not loading after a restart, contact support with your operating system and app version.
