Free actions and limits
Filmit MCP works with a free Filmit account. Free accounts include 50 actions a day. Filmit Pro has no daily allowance.
What counts as an action
An action is one thing Claude does in your app: reading a sequence, placing a clip, adding a batch of markers, changing an effect, rendering a frame. Claude usually takes a few actions for each request, because it reads before and after it edits.
A simple request like “add a marker here” takes a couple of actions. A lower third with text, styling and animation takes a handful. A rough pass over a short timeline can take a few dozen. So 50 a day is enough to try things properly and to get real work done on lighter days.
These don’t count:
- Checking which apps are connected.
- Anything your app never received, for example when the computer was asleep or the app was closed.
What happens near and at the limit
- 10 left: Claude mentions it once, next to a normal result.
- At 50: the next action doesn’t run, and nothing in your project changes. Claude tells you that you’ve used today’s free actions and how long until they reset.
- Reset: the count starts again at midnight UTC.
To see where you are, ask Claude “how many Filmit actions do I have left today?”
Filmit Pro
Filmit Pro (monthly, yearly, or a Teams seat) has no daily allowance, including during the 7-day free trial.
If you start a trial or subscribe when you hit the limit, go back to your chat and say “carry on”. Claude picks up where it stopped, usually within half a minute, with no reconnecting.
See Plans for what each plan includes, or Pricing to start a trial.
Limits for everyone
- 60 actions a minute. This protects against a runaway loop. Normal editing never gets near it. If it is ever reached, wait a minute and tell Claude to carry on.
- Busy times. If the connector is ever under very heavy load, free accounts may pause for a while before members do. Claude tells you if this happens.
- Claude’s own limits. How much you can chat with Claude depends on your Claude plan with Anthropic. Filmit has no say in that.
If something looks wrong
- You’re on Pro but Claude says you’re at the limit. Wait half a minute and say “carry on”. If it still says so, disconnect Filmit in Claude’s Settings → Connectors and connect it again. Connections made a while ago sometimes need this once.
- A payment didn’t go through. Your account works like a free account until the payment is sorted. Update your card in Account and billing.
