Accessibility Statement
Filmit.io is committed to making our website and tools accessible to everyone.
We believe creative tools should be available to everyone, regardless of ability. This statement outlines our commitment to accessibility and the steps we've taken to ensure Filmit.io meets internationally recognized standards.
Our Standard
Filmit.io aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are the internationally recognized benchmark for web accessibility.
WCAG 2.1 Level AA addresses the most common barriers for users with disabilities, including those who are blind, have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, have limited movement, have speech disabilities, have photosensitivity, or have cognitive and learning disabilities.
What We've Done
We have implemented the following accessibility features across our website and web application:
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas are still being improved:
- Third-party content — Some embedded content (YouTube videos, payment forms via Lemon Squeezy) is provided by third parties whose accessibility is outside our direct control. We choose partners with strong accessibility practices.
- Filmit Studio desktop application — Our desktop plugins run inside Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro. Accessibility within those host applications is governed by Adobe's own accessibility features.
- User-generated content — Blog posts, forum discussions, and community content may not always meet accessibility guidelines, though we provide tools and guidance to encourage accessible content creation.
Assistive Technology Compatibility
Filmit.io is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom (tested up to 200%)
Our site is tested in the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is not a one-time project — it's an ongoing commitment. We continuously work to improve by:
- Including accessibility in our development and design review process for all new features.
- Regularly auditing our site using both automated tools and manual testing.
- Training our team on accessibility best practices.
- Listening to feedback from users who rely on assistive technology.
