Getting Started
The Basics
The Filmit Studio is a desktop app for Mac and Windows that manages all of your Filmit.io plugins in one place. Think of it as your plugin command center. Browse tools, install them with one click, and get automatic updates. No more digging through downloads folders or manually copying files.
Subscribe on our website, download the Filmit Studio, and create your account. Once you're signed in, every plugin we make is right there waiting for you. Hit install, open your editing software, and you're good to go. The whole process takes about two minutes.
Everything. Every plugin we've built, every plugin we release in the future, all courses, overlay packs, and assets. You also get automatic updates pushed directly through the Studio. One subscription covers it all. No add-ons, no upsells.
Yes. Every new subscription starts with a 3-day free trial. You get full access to every tool and course during the trial. Cancel before day 3 and you won't be charged a cent. No credit card tricks, no gotchas.
Currently, our plugins support Adobe After Effects CC 2020+ and Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2020+. Support for DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro is actively in development and coming soon. The Studio itself runs on both Mac and Windows.
Your plugins work offline once installed. They live locally on your machine. The Studio just needs an internet connection periodically to verify your license and check for updates. You won't lose access in the middle of a project if your Wi-Fi drops.

The Filmit Studio subscription is $20/month or $192/year (that's $16/month). Both plans give you access to every plugin we make, current and future, plus all courses, overlays, and assets. No per-plugin pricing, no hidden fees. Just one flat rate for everything.
Absolutely. No contracts, no cancellation fees, no guilt trips. Cancel from your account settings whenever you want. You'll keep full access until the end of your current billing period. If you change your mind later, re-subscribing restores everything instantly.
You keep access until the end of your billing period. After that, tools deactivate, but your After Effects and Premiere Pro projects are completely unaffected. Nothing gets deleted. Re-subscribe anytime and everything comes right back.
Yes! You can subscribe monthly at $20/month or save with the annual plan at $192/year (that's $16/month). Both plans include full access to every tool, course, overlay, and asset. You can switch between plans anytime from your billing settings.
Student and education pricing is coming soon. For teams and studios, we offer custom Enterprise plans with volume pricing, shared libraries, and priority support. Reach out to hello@filmit.io and we'll put together something that works for your crew.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and PayPal through our payment partner Squarespace Commerce. All transactions are securely processed and your billing information is never stored on our servers.
Installation & Setup
Getting Up and Running
Head to our Studio page and download the installer for your platform. On Windows, run the .exe installer. On Mac, open the .dmg and drag Filmit Studio to your Applications folder. Launch it, sign in, and you're ready to start installing plugins.
Open the Studio, browse the plugin list, and click "Install" on any tool you want. The Studio handles everything automatically: downloading, extracting, and placing files in the correct location. Just restart your editing software and the plugin shows up in your Extensions menu. That's it.
Yes. The Filmit Studio and all plugins are fully supported on both macOS and Windows. We test on both platforms with every release. Whether you're on a MacBook Pro or a custom PC build, everything works the same way.
Your subscription allows activation on up to 2 devices simultaneously. That means you can run the Studio on your desktop workstation and your laptop without any issues. If you need more seats, our Enterprise plan has you covered.
Sign out of the Studio on your old machine, then sign in on the new one. Your license transfers automatically. If you no longer have access to your old computer, just sign in on the new one. It will deactivate the old device after a grace period. No need to contact support.

Plugins and New Releases
We ship updates regularly. Bug fixes roll out as soon as they're ready, and feature updates typically land every few weeks. The Studio checks for updates automatically, so you'll always know when something new is available. No manual downloading required.
Yes. Every new plugin, overlay pack, course, and asset we release is automatically included in your subscription. When we ship something new, it just appears in your Studio. No extra charge, no upgrade tier. You're always on the latest and greatest.
The Studio is the recommended way to install and manage your plugins. It handles installation paths, updates, and license validation. While the plugins themselves run independently inside your editing software, you'll need the Studio installed for initial setup and to receive updates.
We test thoroughly before every release, but if something slips through, we move fast. Report the issue on our Discord or email hello@filmit.io and we'll push a fix as quickly as possible. Your existing projects are never affected by plugin updates.
We currently ship GridMaker, GIFer, TextPilot, ColorMaster, and several more for After Effects and Premiere Pro, with new tools in beta all the time. Check our Tools page for the full lineup. We're constantly building and releasing new plugins based on what editors actually need.
Account & Support
Help When You Need It
Click "Forgot Password" on the login screen in the Studio or on our website. We'll send a reset link to your email. Click it, set a new password, and you're back in. The whole thing takes about 30 seconds.
The fastest way is through our Discord community where we're active daily. You can also email us at hello@filmit.io. We typically respond within a few hours during business hours. No ticket numbers, no bots. Just real people who use the tools too.
Yes! We have an active Discord server where editors and creators share their work, swap workflow tips, report bugs, and get early access to beta tools. It's also the best place to get quick help and connect with other users.
Absolutely, we love hearing what editors actually need. Some of our best tools started as user requests. We can't promise every idea ships, but we read everything and prioritize based on what the community needs most.
Head to our Discord and post in the bug reports channel, or email hello@filmit.io with a description of what happened. Include your OS, editing software version, and steps to reproduce if you can. The more detail you give us, the faster we can squash it.
