How to Loop Playback in Premiere Pro

When you're fine-tuning a transition, syncing to music, or reviewing a short section, looping playback lets you watch it repeatedly without pressing play each time.

How to Enable It

  1. Click the + icon (or wrench icon) at the bottom-right of the Program monitor toolbar
  2. Drag the Loop Playback button into the toolbar
  3. Click the loop button to toggle it on (it highlights when active)
  4. Set In and Out points (I and O keys) around the section you want to loop
  5. Press Space to play — it will loop continuously between In and Out
Pro tip: Combine loop playback with the / (forward slash) key, which plays just the In-to-Out range without needing to move the playhead first.
