The look

What Filmstock does

Filmstock gives your footage the look of real motion-picture film, with animated grain, warm halation glowing off the highlights, and the gentle gate weave of a frame moving through a camera. It runs entirely on the GPU as a real After Effects, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve effect, so you get a live, render-accurate preview while you work.

Choose a 16mm, 35mm, or Super 8 base and layer in dust, scratches, light leaks, and a film color curve until the clip feels shot on celluloid, or start from a preset and adjust from there. Every control is keyframable, so you can build the look up over a shot or pulse a light leak right when you want it.

Dial in the exact look

Film Stock

Switch between 16mm, 35mm, and Super 8 to set the base grain and texture of the look.

Grain

Add animated film grain that moves frame to frame the way real emulsion does.

Halation

Bloom a warm glow off the brightest parts of the image, like light bleeding into the film.

Gate Weave

Drift the frame slightly as if the film is moving through the camera gate.

Dust & Scratches

Scatter specks and vertical scratches across the frame for an aged, well-played print.

Light Leaks

Wash colored light across the edges of the frame like a leaky film body.

Color Curve

Apply a film color response that shifts the contrast and tone toward a celluloid grade.

Presets

Start from a ready-made film look and tune it to your shot.
