Kill Bill Vol. 1-Inspired Pop Saturation

Inspired by Kill Bill: Vol. 1

Pop-saturated primaries, high-contrast reds, pulp cinema.

The Look

Revenge Dojo is built for theatrical saturation. The pack pushes primaries hard, with reds and yellows in particular cranked beyond natural to land in pulp-cinema territory. Contrast sits aggressive but not crushing; blacks hold a slight lift to mimic film print. The grade is unsubtle by design, the kind of look that announces itself as a stylistic choice rather than trying to disappear. Built for music videos, action shorts, fashion content, and anything that benefits from the audience being aware that color decisions are being made.

Inspired by Kill Bill: Vol. 1

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) drew its visual vocabulary from 70s grindhouse and Hong Kong wuxia. Robert Richardson's cinematography pushed saturation past most modern conventions, especially on yellows (the tracksuit) and reds (blood, neon). The House of Blue Leaves sequence remains one of the most saturated, primary-driven action set pieces ever filmed. The grade became shorthand for stylized, theatrical action.

Best For

  • Music videos with high-energy or theatrical direction
  • Fashion and editorial content
  • Action shorts with stylized direction
  • Anime-influenced live-action work
  • Anything where the grade should be visible rather than invisible

Color Notes

The saturation pushes hard on warm tones. Skin can over-orange if your source was lit warm; pull the orange-range saturation in HSL Secondary by 10 to 15 percent on talking-head footage. The matte variants tone the pop down a notch and work better on subjects than the punchy variants.
