Hollywood LUTs
Blockbuster Polish for the Final Cut
Blockbuster polish: contrasty, punchy, cinema-ready.
The Look
Hollywood is the polished, contrasty, deliberately commercial sibling of the Cinematic pack. Where Cinematic whispers, Hollywood projects. Deeper blacks, punchier midtones, and a slight warm bias that makes faces glow without going orange. This is the grade you'd see on a Marvel trailer, a Netflix Original opening sequence, or any prestige TV pilot that wants the audience to know within five seconds that they're watching expensive content. Saturation sits one notch above natural; contrast sits two notches above natural.
Best For
- Trailers and teasers that need immediate impact
- Action sequences and high-energy cuts
- Commercial work for premium brands
- Music videos with theatrical ambition
- Sizzle reels and demo videos that need to read as premium
Color Notes
Hollywood LUTs assume well-exposed Rec.709 footage. Underexposed shots will crush in the shadows; overexposed shots will lose the highlight rolloff. Light shot-matching is recommended after applying. The matte-bleached variants work especially well on outdoor exterior footage; the punchy variants suit interior dialogue scenes.
