Football Firm

Green Street Hooligans-Inspired British Sport Drama
Inspired by Green Street Hooligans
Punchy contrast, grit in the shadows, sweat-and-chrome warmth.
The Look
Football Firm is the British football-hooligan grade. Built around the gritty-British-pub visual vocabulary: warm-interior pub lighting against cool-overcast British exteriors, and the kind of contrast that suits both stadium-crowd shots and intimate violence sequences. Built for British sport drama and adjacent working-class English narrative.
Inspired by Green Street Hooligans
Green Street Hooligans (2005) was Lexi Alexander and DP Alexander Buono's English-football-firm drama. The grade leaned into the visual vocabulary of British working-class cinema: dim pub interiors, grey overcast match-day exteriors, sweat-warmed locker-room sequences. The look ties to a tradition running through Shane Meadows and Ken Loach.
Best For
- British sport drama and football narrative
- Working-class English content and documentary
- Music videos with British or terrace-culture direction
- Pub-interior or working-men's-club scene work
- Anything trading on British working-class visual vocabulary
Color Notes
Overcast British exteriors develop the strongest response. Bright daylight will fight the grit vocabulary. The sweat-and-chrome variants handle pub work; the grit-in-shadow variants are for outdoor and street sequences.
