Dirty Mission
Dirty Mission LUTs
Bastards-Inspired Special Forces Mission
Inspired by Bastards
Desaturated grit, cool shadows, war-doc realism.
The Look
Dirty Mission is the modern special-forces grade. Built for tactical-mission cinema where the visual register needs to communicate restraint, precision, and danger without theatrical flourishes. Cool shadow handling, desaturated tactical exteriors, and the kind of contrast that suits night-vision and infrared simulation work alongside conventional daylight footage.
Inspired by Bastards
Modern special-forces cinema relies on a coherent restrained visual vocabulary across runtime. Films like Bastards, Lone Survivor, and Zero Dark Thirty built the look around documentary-restraint contrast and desaturated environmental palettes that have become the genre standard.
Best For
- Special-forces and tactical narrative
- Modern military thriller
- Music videos with tactical or political direction
- Documentary covering special operations or modern conflict
- Action sequences requiring restrained color rather than theatrical pop
Color Notes
Night and low-light footage develop the strongest grade response. Daytime exteriors will fight the cool-shadow vocabulary. The war-doc-realism variants are the most universal starting point.
