From Scripts to a Platform
The big pivot. We took everything we'd learned building individual scripts and started engineering Filmit Studio — a companion desktop app that would install, update, and manage every tool in one place. Every script was rebuilt as a modern panel with a real UI.
Every tool rebuilt from JSX scripts into full CEP panels with modern interfaces
Filmit Studio desktop app architecture designed and prototyped
Auto-update system built so plugins stay current without any effort
Subscription model finalized — one price, every tool, forever

Rapid-Fire Development
With the core scripting framework proven, we went all-in. New tools shipped every week — each one born from a real frustration editors kept telling us about. ProXimity, CallOuts, JumpCut, CRTme, ToolKit, and more. The tool library grew from a handful to a full suite.
ProXimity — effects that respond to distance between layers
CallOuts — animated labels and pointers that auto-connect to your targets
JumpCut — detect and remove silence from footage automatically
CRTme — authentic retro CRT display effects
ToolKit, Organizer, Reducer, OverLay, ChitChat, and more in the pipeline

The First Tools Ship
We stopped just teaching and started building. GridMaker was first — a simple idea that making split screens in After Effects shouldn't be hard. Then ColorMaster, TextPilot, and GIFer followed quickly. Each tool went through dozens of iterations based on real user feedback.
GridMaker — split screens, video walls, and mosaics in one click
ColorMaster — scan, link, and control every color in your project (40+ dev iterations!)
TextPilot — bulk text editing with language support and spell check
GIFer — browse and insert GIFs directly into your timeline
Sold individually through the Filmit.io store

A Decade of Teaching
It didn't start with code — it started with a camera and a YouTube channel. For nearly a decade, we published free tutorials teaching video editing, motion graphics, and visual effects. 300+ videos. Millions of views. Thousands of creators learning the craft. After ten years of hearing the same frustrations from editors — slow workflows, repetitive tasks, tools that should exist but don't — we decided to stop just talking about the problems and start building the solutions.
10 years of free tutorials on YouTube, reaching creators worldwide
300+ videos covering After Effects, Premiere Pro, motion graphics, and VFX
A community built on actually understanding what editors need every day
The question that started it all: what if every tool an editor needs came in one place?
