After Effects setup

Filmit plugins for After Effects appear as panels you can dock anywhere in your workspace.

Supported versions

After Effects 2023, 2024, and 2025 are fully supported. 2022 (22.6 and later) works with limited support. See System requirements.

Open a panel

1. Install the tool from Filmit Studio. See Install your first plugin.
2. Open or restart After Effects.
3. Gehe zu Window > Extensions.
4. Choose your Filmit tool. The panel opens.

Dock and save your workspace

Drag the panel to dock it. To keep it handy, save a custom workspace from Window > Workspaces > Save as New Workspace.

Panel is missing?

Restart After Effects, then check Window > Extensions again. If it is still missing, see Panel not showing?.
